Rate Limiting

Rate limiting is a technique that caps the number of API requests within a timeframe, to prevent abuse and keep systems stable.

Rate limiting caps how many requests an application can make to an API within a given time period, for example a maximum of 100 requests per minute. This prevents a single application from overloading or abusing a system.

For developers integrating with external APIs, like the WhatsApp Business API, understanding rate limits is essential: too many requests in a short time can lead to rejected requests or temporary blocks.

The Bugalou API enforces reasonable rate limits to guarantee stability for all users, with clear documentation so developers can design their integrations accordingly.
