Renewal Rate

Renewal rate is the percentage of customers who renew their subscription at the end of a contract period, instead of canceling.

Renewal rate measures the percentage of customers who renew their contract when the term ends, as opposed to churn rate, which measures the percentage of customers who leave. Both metrics are two sides of the same coin.

For businesses with annual contracts (common in B2B), renewal rate is a more direct and predictable metric than monthly churn, since renewal moments are known in advance and can be actively managed.

By communicating in time before a renewal date and proactively resolving issues through Bugalou, businesses increase the odds that customers consciously choose to renew instead of quietly leaving.
