Double Opt-in

Double opt-in is a confirmation step where a contact must explicitly confirm consent again after signing up, usually via a confirmation link or message.

Double opt-in adds a second confirmation step to the sign-up process: after the initial sign-up, the contact receives a confirmation message and must actively confirm (e.g. by clicking a link) before actually receiving messages.

This extra step prevents mistyped addresses or numbers from landing in your list, and produces demonstrably valid consent — important for GDPR compliance and for maintaining a good sender reputation.

Bugalou supports double opt-in flows for both email and WhatsApp, so you build a clean, compliant contact list from the very first moment.
