Cross-selling

Cross-selling is a sales technique where you offer additional or related products alongside the product the customer is already buying or has bought.

Cross-selling means offering a customer additional products or services related to their original purchase. A classic example: someone buys a phone and you offer a protective case and screen protector along with it.

The difference from upselling is that with cross-selling you offer different products, while with upselling you suggest a more expensive version of the same product. Both techniques increase the average order value.

In customer service, natural cross-selling moments arise when a customer asks questions about a product. A well-trained agent or AI chatbot can suggest relevant additions at that moment, without being pushy.

With Bugalou, you can integrate cross-selling into your customer service by linking product recommendations to your chatbot and by providing your team with order information and product catalog directly in the inbox.
