New Feature: Hosted Forms — Embed Contact Forms Directly on Your Website

Introducing Hosted Forms 🎉

We're excited to announce Hosted Forms — a brand-new feature that lets you build fully customizable contact forms and embed them directly on your website.

Every submission your visitors make is automatically converted into a conversation in your Bugalou inbox, complete with a ticket number and all the submitted data neatly formatted. No more manual copy-pasting from form tools into your helpdesk.

What Are Hosted Forms?

Hosted Forms are embeddable web forms that you create inside Bugalou. Once your form is ready, you get a small JavaScript snippet — paste it into any page of your website and you're done.

When a visitor fills out and submits the form, Bugalou automatically:

1. Creates or updates a contact in your contact database
2. Opens a new conversation in your team inbox with a unique ticket number
3. Formats all form data into a clean HTML table inside the message
4. Triggers any automations you've linked to the form_submitted event (e.g. send a confirmation email)

How to Build a Form

Go to Dashboard → Forms and click New Form. From here you can:

• Add any combination of field types: text, email, phone, textarea, dropdown, checkbox
• Mark fields as required
• Set a custom success message for after submission
• Choose a primary color to match your brand
• Set an auto-assigned team for incoming submissions

Once saved, click the Embed button next to your form to copy the snippet.

Triggering Automations on Submission

Hosted Forms work natively with Bugalou's Automation Engine. Use the Form Submitted trigger to:

• Send an automatic confirmation email to the visitor
• Notify your team via WhatsApp or email
• Add a label to the conversation
• Route the conversation to a specific team

Plan Availability

Hosted Forms are available on all paid plans — Starter, Pro, and Enterprise. Free plan users will see an upgrade prompt.
