What Is AI Conversation Summary?
AI Conversation Summary generates a concise overview of any conversation with one click. The AI reads the last 50 messages and produces a short summary highlighting the main topic, key points, and current status. This is a Pro plan feature powered by GPT-4o-mini.
When to Use It
- Agent handovers — quickly understand a conversation before taking over from a colleague or from the AI Agent
- Reviewing long threads — get up to speed on conversations with many messages without scrolling through everything
- Team collaboration — share context with teammates by summarizing the conversation status
- Closing notes — use the summary as a starting point for your closing note
How to Generate a Summary
- Open a conversation in the inbox
- Click the "✨ AI Summary" button at the top of the conversation (below the header)
- Wait 2–5 seconds — the AI analyzes the conversation
- A teal banner appears with the summary text

What the Summary Includes
The AI summary covers:
- Main topic — what the customer is asking about
- Key details — important information mentioned (order numbers, dates, product names)
- Current status — what has been resolved and what's still open
- Action items — any pending tasks or follow-ups
The summary is typically 2–4 sentences, providing enough context to understand the conversation without reading every message.
