Overview

Connect your email accounts to receive and manage email conversations directly in the Bugalou inbox, alongside WhatsApp, Instagram, and other channels. Navigate to Channels → Gmail, Outlook, or IMAP/SMTP, or go directly to Channels (sidebar) → Email Settings.

Account Limits

The number of email accounts you can connect is unlimited on all paid plans. Connect as many Gmail, Outlook, or IMAP accounts as you need.

Connecting Gmail

1. Click the blue "Connect Gmail" button
2. You'll be redirected to Google to sign in and authorize Bugalou
3. Grant the requested permissions (read and send email)
4. You're redirected back — your Gmail account appears in the connected accounts list

Connecting Outlook / Microsoft 365

1. Click the "Connect Outlook" button
2. You'll be redirected to Microsoft to sign in
3. Authorize Bugalou to access your mailbox
4. You're redirected back — your Outlook account appears in the list

Connecting Custom IMAP/SMTP

Click the "Custom IMAP" button to open the setup modal. Fill in:

Incoming Mail (IMAP)

• Email Address — your email address
• IMAP Host — e.g. imap.yourdomain.com
• Port — typically 993
• Username — usually your email address
• Password — your email password or app-specific password
• Use TLS/SSL — checkbox (recommended: enabled)

Outgoing Mail (SMTP)

• SMTP Host — e.g. smtp.yourdomain.com
• SMTP Port — typically 587
• SMTP Username — usually your email address
• SMTP Password — your email password

Connected Account Card

Each connected email account shows:

• Provider icon — Gmail, Outlook, or IMAP icon
• Display name and email
• Provider type — gmail, outlook, or imap
• Last synced — timestamp of last email sync
• Disconnect button

Email Sync

Emails are synced automatically every 5 minutes. Only new emails are added to your inbox — existing emails aren't imported retroactively. To set up email campaign sending, see Email Provider Setup.
