Encryption

Encryption makes data unreadable to unauthorized parties, both in transit and at rest.

Encryption converts readable data into unreadable code that can only be decoded with the right key. A distinction is made between encryption "in transit" (during transmission, e.g. via HTTPS) and "at rest" (while stored on a server).

For customer service software, encryption is essential: conversations often contain sensitive information like order details, addresses, and sometimes payment information. Without encryption, this data is vulnerable in a breach.

Bugalou encrypts data both in transit and at rest, and stores customer data on EU servers, so sensitive information stays protected against unauthorized access.
