SSL Encryption

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a security protocol that encrypts the communication between a website and the visitor, recognizable by the lock icon and 'https://' in the URL.

SSL encryption ensures that all data exchanged between a visitor's browser and the web server is encrypted and unreadable to third parties. This protects sensitive information such as passwords, payment details, and personal data.

An SSL certificate is mandatory for any website that processes personal data (GDPR) and is a ranking factor for Google. Visitors trust websites with the green lock icon more — especially for online stores and forms.

All communication via Bugalou — both your dashboard and customer conversations — is secured with SSL/TLS encryption. Your customer data is stored encrypted on EU servers in Frankfurt.
