Analytics: Broadcasts
Track delivery rates, read rates, and campaign performance for your WhatsApp and SMS broadcast campaigns.
Broadcast Analytics
The Broadcast Analytics page gives you a complete overview of your broadcast campaign performance. Navigate to Analytics → Broadcasts to access this page. This page is available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
Key Metrics
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Broadcasts Sent | Total number of broadcast campaigns sent in the selected period, with growth percentage compared to the previous period |
| Messages Sent | Total number of individual messages sent across all broadcasts, with growth percentage |
| Delivery Rate | Percentage of sent messages that were successfully delivered to recipients |
| Read Rate | Percentage of delivered messages that were opened/read by recipients |
How Status Tracking Works
When you send a broadcast, each message goes through a series of status updates:
- Sent — The message has been sent to WhatsApp or your SMS provider
- Delivered — The message has arrived on the recipient's device
- Read — The recipient has opened and read the message (blue checkmarks on WhatsApp)
- Failed — The message could not be delivered (e.g. invalid number, blocked contact)
WhatsApp Read Tracking
WhatsApp supports full read tracking via the Business API. When a recipient opens your message, WhatsApp sends a read status callback. Note: if a recipient has disabled read receipts in their WhatsApp settings, the message will show as "delivered" but not "read". The actual read rate may be slightly higher than reported.
SMS Delivery Tracking
SMS messages support delivered and failed statuses via Twilio status callbacks. Read tracking is only available for iMessage (Apple) and RCS recipients. Standard SMS does not support read receipts, so your SMS read rate may appear lower than actual engagement.
Broadcast Messages Over Time
A vertical bar chart showing the number of messages sent per day during the selected time range. Hover over any bar to see the exact date, sent count, and delivered count. Use this to identify your most active broadcast days.
Channel Breakdown
See how your broadcasts are distributed across channels (WhatsApp, SMS, Email). For each channel, the following metrics are shown:
- Campaigns — number of broadcast campaigns sent via this channel
- Sent — total messages sent
- Delivered — delivery percentage
- Read — read percentage
- Failed — number of failed messages
A progress bar shows the delivery rate per channel at a glance.
Campaign Performance Table
A detailed table of every broadcast campaign in the selected period. Each row shows:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The broadcast name, template name (if WhatsApp), and who created it |
| Channel | WhatsApp, SMS, or Email |
| Recipients | Total number of recipients targeted |
| Delivered | Delivery percentage and count |
| Read | Read percentage and count |
| Failed | Number of failed messages (highlighted in red if > 0) |
| Date | When the broadcast was sent |
Summary Statistics
At the bottom of the Channel Breakdown card, you'll find:
- Failure Rate — Overall percentage of messages that failed to deliver. Highlighted in red if above 5%.
- Total Recipients — The total number of unique recipients across all broadcasts in the period.
Filters
Use the filters at the top of the page to customize your view:
- Time range — Today, 7 days, 30 days, this month, previous month, or this year
- Platform — Filter by channel (not applicable for broadcasts, but consistent with other analytics pages)
Tips for Improving Broadcast Performance
- Use approved WhatsApp templates with personalized parameters for higher read rates
- Segment your audience using tags or lifecycle stages to target relevant contacts
- Monitor failure rates — a high rate may indicate stale phone numbers that need cleanup
- Compare delivery rates across channels to determine the best channel for your audience
- Send broadcasts during business hours for better engagement
